These capers in olive oil are 100% Italian, from Sicily. They are kept in olive oil to give them a mild flavor, unlike salt. The size is large, from 0.5 to 1 cm in diameter.
Capers 64%, olive oil 36%.
Net weight: 180gr
Because of their size and their preservation in olive oil, they are excellent as an aperitif, and perfectly perfume meat and fish in sauce.
The caper is a small shrub of Sicily (mainly grown in the islands of Pantelleria and Salina) which at first glance is not worth a nail. It gives on the contrary a small bud, capers often kept in salt or oil, because at harvest they are very bitter. They are harvested meticulously by hand during the summer period.
