Rhododendron honey is by far one of the most sought-after and precious honeys. It is harvested in fact from the end of June to the beginning of July in rhododendron meadows in flower of the Alpine valleys, at an altitude of almost 2000 meters.
At this altitude the risks are different (the night temperatures fall to a few degrees above zero and in general the weather is very variable so that often it also happens to find the snow), this makes it particularly difficult and insidious the work of bees and honey harvesting. The product obtained is however of a delicacy and of a quality such as to repay the beekeeper of his every effort.
The color is clear, the crystallization is fine and creamy, with pleasant crystals on the palate. In the mouth the sensations are all pleasant and the taste very sweet. The delicacy of the aroma is enhanced by a note of fresh and floral.
The Brezzo family has been a beekeeper for 3 generations (1950) on the lands of Roero in Piedmont.
