1 bottle - 75cl 12% vol
90% sangiovese grosso, 10% canaiolo nero.
selected vineyards on the hills of Chianti, between Siena and Florence, at 350 - 400 metres altitude, on well-exposed very varied terrain (alberese, galestro, marl, clay etc.) The vines, trained by the Guyot and Cordone Speronato systems, are restricted to a production of 90 quintals per hectare, with an output of wine of 70%.
the grapes, picked in October, are vinified by the red wine method with 10 days controlled maceration and frequent remontages; the bottling takes place after a suitable period of ageing in steel vats.
Very bright, ruby colour; fragrant, vinous bouquet, with subtle hints of raspberries, wild strawberries, violets and ripe grapes; dry pleasantly fruity, soft but lively flavour, with a delightful, lingering aftertaste of cherries and almonds.
Food matches: charcuterie, flavoursome first courses (ribollita, pappardelle al ragù).
Serving temperature: 16-18°C.
